Father’s Day is right around the corner and our team at Sockwell is here to help you find just the right gift!

Father’s Day has new meaning in our house this year, as it will be our first! My husband and I are expecting our first baby and needless to say, we are beyond excited and find that the pregnancy is going by in the blink of an eye.
With Father’s Day approaching, I can’t help but reminisce on my college days where I worked at a local gift shop that specialized in embroidery. It was there that I honed my gifting skills, as I spent the weeks prior to every gift-giving holiday and large event helping customers select unique gifts for men and women.
With Father’s Day upon us, I’ve decided to leverage my gift-giving expertise to craft a list of ideas for every kind of dad on the spectrum. Whether they’re first-timers—simply prepping to master the art of changing diapers and bottle feeding—or veterans in the parenting field, here are a few different ways to express love and gratitude to the dads in your life.
For the Foodie Dad
Subscription model gifts are always a fun surprise, especially for foodies. There are many options to choose from, but this Father’s Day I’m loving the Fuego Box. Spice up your gift this year with this subscription service focused on delivering the tastiest small batch of hot sauces right to your door. Team Fuego considers themselves the “hot sauce club for people who love food.” And if you’re lucky, you might even get a box outfitted with Hoff Sauce, a local hot sauce hand-crafted in Chattanooga, TN!
I prefer to give a few months of pre-paid subscription boxes as a starter kit that also functions as an extended gift series for those who are always looking to get their hands on new products. Customize it to suit their preferences or randomize it for the more adventurous dads. Subscription boxes are truly the gift that keeps on giving!
For the Dog Dad
Because every good dog dad deserves a chance to take a great selfie with their furry friend! As seen on Shark Tank, Pooch Selfie is the original pet selfie smartphone accessory.
This smartphone attachment comes with a removable squeaking Pooch Selfie ball to catch your pet’s attention and help capture the perfect man’s-best-friend selfie.
Ringing in at under $10, this is an affordable Dad’s Day gift that gives for years to come!
For the Coffee Loving Dad
For the dad who loves a hot cup of Joe—the key to staying in his good graces forever is the gift of coffee that stays hot.
Enter Ember, the smart coffee mug that pairs with a smartphone app. The app allows dad to choose his desired drinking temperature and maintain that temperature for about an hour, ensuring no extra trips to the microwave are needed.
With this gift, dad is sure to think of you every time he enjoys his morning coffee!
For the Techy Dad
“You know you can call any time,” says the dad who never has his phone within arm’s reach. Apple AirPods solve the never-ending parent-child game of phone tag. With Air Pods, dad can pick up your call—even when he can’t find his phone (again). And with the help of our tech friend Siri, dad now has an excuse to call you more often.
The best part about this gift is that dad doesn’t need to be all that tech savvy to grasp the functionality of this portable gadget.
AirPods connect immediately via Bluetooth, offering everything from convenience to top-quality sound.
For the Expecting Dad
Because he’s obviously going to be a cool dad, I don’t expect to see my husband wearing my polka dotted baby wrap in public anytime soon. Introducing Tactical Baby Gear, a full line of baby products—diaper bags, carriers, accessories, etc.—designed with military efficiency and ruggedness in mind.
The Tactical Baby Carrier™ is a great option for expecting dads who won’t want to compromise their personal style.
Though the baby carrier will keep him hands free, you might also keep this one-handed bottle opener in mind for your dad-to-be for those times when he has the baby in one hand and needs to open his own bottle with the other!
For Every Dad
What do you get for the dad that doesn’t fit a specific category? The man who’s a jack of all trades, values a good hug and nice conversation over gadgets with fancy bells and whistles?
Chances are, the “Every Dad” also likes to travel or go for a nice walk (or run), sits at the office many hours each day, and likes to kick back and relax at the end of a long day at the office.
Sound familiar? If so, you can’t go wrong with a card, a framed photo, and a pair of compression socks for men.
What are you giving the dads in your life this Father’s Day? I hope my Father’s Day gift guide helps you go the extra mile to express some well-deserved love and gratitude for those special father figures this year.
